Do you remember the popular eighties & nineties sitcom "Cheers"? Sam, Diane, Carla, & Woody worked in a bar where the same people came in on a daily basis to receive comfort from the bottle and one another.

And although I would never want to say that a bar is the model of community that we wish to see in our LIFE Groups, the writers of "Cheers" were on to something. People are lonely - people are hurting - they want a place where "Everybody Knows Your Name."

Look at the theme song to "Cheers," and see if it hits home with you: "Makin’ your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got. Takin’ a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot. Wouldn’t you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same. You wanna be where everybody knows your name."

Folks, that could be the theme song for our LIFE Groups. We truly want to be a church where no one stands alone! We want every attender to find a group that provides them with a safe environment to relationally connect with God and with other like-minded believers, so that they can become everything that God wants them to be.
